Fallen

Telré 3/29/2000

What could possibly have possessed the fallen angels? (kinda to the tune of High Callypso by John Denver...)

I have flown through the Heavens with the winds up under me,
seen the Almighty's eye like the sun in my face.
I have fought many battles with the Host at my back,
my mask a grim leer overshadows this place.

I watched as my brothers Fell from Your Grace in denial,
a bitter reflection of my fears and my pride.
I have washed my hands of them as Commanded I've driven
their mutated forms far from Your Side.

I don't want Your Forgiveness
And I don't want Your Mercy
I don't want to be overshadowed by your Heavenly Light
I don't need Your Compassion
And I won't heed Your Wisdom
So break now these chains so I may rejoice in the Night...

I've watched You mock mortals as You sent me to slay them,
sent me to raze and to flood and to cry
I've burned and I've plagued and I've suffered in Your Place,
an agent of destruction who can't ever die.

So I sat Mount Olympus in a time between days,
  forlorn, and contemplative, hating inside.
You've wounded my grace and there's no where to turn to,
Your Light mocks my sadness, my needs and my pride.

I don't want Your Forgiveness
And I don't want Your Mercy
I don't want to be overshadowed by your Heavenly Light
I don't need Your Compassion
And I won't heed Your Wisdom
So break now these chains so I may rejoice in the Night...

So where can I lash out and where can I wander,
where can I lose the Almighty Glare!?
I know that there is only one left to turn to...
but one name to speak and He's suddenly there!

Tear off my wings and cast me from the Heavens,
for I dare not walk amongst -You-, the Almighty, the Hosts...
I have yearned for the flesh of Satan upon me,
for the passion he feels that not one of You boasts.

I don't want Your Forgiveness
And I don't want Your Mercy
I don't want to be overshadowed by your Heavenly Light
I don't need Your Compassion
And I won't heed Your Wisdom
So break now these chains so I may rejoice in the Night...
