Christina's PreBirth Tale

Eve 1991

There was a time, a time before life, where I lived as one of
many pre-born souls.
A god approached me, of all of the multitudes of unshaped spirits.
He showed me a woman, young and fresh as dew, old and wise as the moon,
and He propositioned me.
"Here are all the things this woman will become..."
He showed me this woman looking with love upon a cat. He showed me
this woman in a man and woman's embrace at once. He showed me this woman
with her hands in the dirt and mud, playfully smearing her body. He
showed me this woman working with plants and animals and humans for the
benefit of all. He showed me this woman in her birthing chamber,
holding a newborn baby, eyes of both filled with astonishment and love.
"This is what you will become, but the road is dark and cloudy, filled
with pain and torture. Each of the things I have shown you you will
seem to lose, often manifold, before they are fully granted. You will often
lose hope, give up, forget these visions. You will often feel alone.
But your pain and fear and lonliness will give birth to the being who can
have all of those wonderful visions come true. Do you accept?"
I looked at him with a wry grin, and I slowly nodded. "Yes."
   And Christina was born.
